Kursk operation achieved most of its goals – Syrskyi

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have achieved most of their goals in the Kursk operation, which has been going on for 9 months. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"This operation, which has been going on for nine months, has achieved most of its goals. Thanks to our active actions in the Kursk Oblast, we managed to prevent an offensive campaign by the enemy in the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions. The buffer zone that the Ukrainian Defense Forces created in the border areas remains relevant even now," he said.

According to Syrskyi, an enemy that significantly outnumbers in manpower can only be defeated with unconventional moves.

"The Kursk operation was just that. It was a surprise for the enemy. Ukraine showed that it is capable of counterattacking, beating and driving the enemy, including on its own soil," he wrote.

Syrskyi said that during a working trip he awarded soldiers who distinguished themselves during the Kursk operation.

"One of the units that qualitatively and effectively fulfilled the assigned tasks in the Kursk Oblast is the 225th separate assault regiment. And now, when we talk about successful active defense in the north of Ukraine and in the border areas of the Russian Federation, it is primarily about the 225th," the Commander-in-Chief added.

We will remind, on April 26, the Chief of the General Staff of the aggressor country russia, Valery Gerasimov, announced the alleged "completion" of the operation to "liberate" the Kursk Oblast from the Ukrainian military.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the statement of the kremlin regime regarding the alleged complete "liberation" of the Kursk Oblast by the russian federation troops contradicts reality.
