On Monday, May 5, the new US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Julie Davis arrived in Kyiv. This is stated in a message of the US Embassy.
"We are pleased to welcome new Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Julie S. Davis to Kyiv," it says.
It is noted that Davis arrived in Ukraine "at a critical time to carry forward President Trump’s policy to end the war and ensure lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 1 it became known that the US State Department had found a temporary replacement for Bridget Brink, who headed the US diplomatic mission in Kyiv. Her place was temporarily taken by US Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Davis.
In early April, The New York Times wrote, citing its own sources, that Brink was leaving her post and resigning.
On April 21, 2025, Bridget Brink published a video in which she summed up her work as head of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
According to the Financial Times, the reason for Brink's dismissal from the post of ambassador was her disagreements with the new US administration.
