US President's National Security Advisor Mike Waltz said that an agreement between Ukraine and the US on rare earth metals will be signed soon. He said this on Fox News on Sunday, April 27.
"Yes, an agreement with Ukraine will be signed. The negotiators worked hard over the weekend. In particular, both Secretary Bessent and the President. It will be done. The President is determined to do it," Waltz emphasized.
Earlier, the Ukrainian delegation held technical consultations in Washington and submitted its proposals to the American side on the future agreement. After that, Ukraine and the US signed a memorandum on cooperation in the subsoil sector.
Subsequently, former US President Donald Trump said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy should immediately sign the agreement on rare earth metals.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 17, First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko announced that Ukraine and the United States had signed a memorandum of intent to conclude an economic partnership agreement.
On April 17, US President Donald Trump suggested that an agreement on Ukrainian minerals could be signed as early as next week.
The Cabinet of Ministers has created a delegation for negotiations with the US government on the implementation of joint projects, headed by Svyrydenko.
