Reducing size or combat readiness of Armed Forces of Ukraine "red line" for Ukraine, US reported – Palisa

Reducing the size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or any restrictions on its combat capability, as demanded by the aggressor country russia, is a "red line" for Kyiv.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa said this in an interview with Reuters.

"This is Ukraine's principled position - no one, and certainly not the aggressor country russia, will dictate to Ukraine what armed forces it should have," the agency quotes him as saying.

Palisa stressed that a well-prepared army will be the best guarantee of Ukraine's security from a new russian attack if a ceasefire or peace agreement is achieved.

According to him, moscow probably wants to prepare in order to make its task easier in the future. At the same time, Kyiv's task is to learn the lessons well and be ready.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 3, Bloomberg reported, citing its own sources, that russian dictator vladimir putin expects US President Donald Trump to provide russia with acceptable terms for a peace treaty.

We will remind, the day before, on April 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on international partners to respond to russia's actions, which continue to attack energy facilities.

We also wrote that the US leadership began to understand that it would not be possible to end the war in Ukraine in the coming months.
