China has advised "interested parties" to understand Beijing's role in the full-scale war of the aggressor country russia against Ukraine and to refrain from irresponsible remarks.
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Lin Jian stated this on Thursday, April 10.
During a briefing, an AFP reporter asked him whether the statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about at least 155 Chinese citizens fighting against Ukraine in the ranks of the aggressor country russia was true.
"I would like to emphasize once again that China is not the creator or participant of the Ukrainian crisis, and we firmly support and actively advocate for a peaceful resolution of the crisis," Jiang said.
He repeated his words that China requires its citizens to stay as far away from zones of armed conflicts as possible and not to participate in them.
Jian added that Beijing advises "interested parties" to correctly and soberly understand China's role and "refrain from irresponsible statements."
Recall, on April 9, President Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is aware of at least 155 Chinese citizens participating in hostilities on the side of russia.
According to him, Ukraine knows their passport data, age and some other information. He also named the units of the russian army in which the largest number of Chinese serve.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 8 it became known that in the Donetsk Region, servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine captured two Chinese citizens.
The day before, a video of the interrogation of the Chinese who were captured by the Ukrainian military was published.
And today, on April 9, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that the Chinese prisoners of war were taken to Kyiv for investigative measures.
