China stated that Beijing did not send its military personnel to participate in the war in Ukraine and opposes the involvement of its citizens in the conflict.
This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, Lin Jian, as quoted by Radio France internationale.
According to him, Beijing has always demanded that its citizens refrain from visiting the zone of armed conflict in Ukraine and stay as far away from it as possible.
Jian added that the Chinese authorities also strongly demand that citizens refuse to participate in the conflict on the side of both Ukraine and the aggressor country, russia.
On Tuesday, April 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on one of the front lines in the east of the country, servicemen of the Ukrainian Defense Forces captured two Chinese citizens.
According to him, the prisoners had identity documents and bank cards with them.
Zelenskyy also published a video with one of the captured Chinese.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of April 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the charge d'affaires ad interim of China.
