The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the temporary charge d'affaires of China to condemn the participation of the Chinese in the war against Ukraine and to provide explanations. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha on the social network X, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We strongly condemn russia's involvement of Chinese citizens in its aggressive war against Ukraine, as well as their participation in hostilities against Ukrainian forces. We summoned the temporary charge d'affaires of China in Ukraine to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to condemn this fact and demand explanations," he said.
Sybiha stressed that Chinese citizens fighting as part of the russian army that invaded Ukraine are questioning China's declared position on peace and undermining Beijing's authority as a responsible permanent member of the UN Security Council.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian military personnel had captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting as part of the russian army in the Donetsk Region.
