Rada denies information about "preparation for elections"

The head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamia, denied holding a meeting on preparations for the elections, which The Economist previously reported on.

He stated that there were no such discussions in the President's Office, and he himself did not participate in any such meetings. Moreover, according to him, such a meeting "was not held at all."

"No elections are being prepared, no preparations are being made. Parliamentary parties and groups have agreed that the elections should be held six months after the end of martial law. Our position has not changed," Arakhamia emphasized in a comment to Suspilne.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 30, the British publication The Economist stated that more than a week ago, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a meeting to instruct his team to organize elections after a complete ceasefire, which, according to the Americans, they can implement by the end of April.

On March 25, the Verkhovna Rada responded to the statement of US Special Envoy Witkoff about the elections, calling it the promotion of putin's interests.

On February 25, the Verkhovna Rada, on its second attempt, adopted its statement on the impossibility of holding elections during the war.
