The Verkhovna Rada has on the second attempt adopted its statement on the impossibility of holding elections during the war.

Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, has written this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

According to the adopted decision, the Rada appeals to the parliaments and governments of foreign states, international organizations and parliamentary assemblies.

The Rada emphasizes that it is the russian dictator vladimir putin who is responsible for the fact that it is currently impossible to organize free, transparent and democratic elections in Ukraine with the invitation of international observers, which would be recognized as such by the international community.

The Rada states that martial law in Ukraine, introduced in the conditions of a full-scale invasion by the russian federation, does not allow holding elections in accordance with the Constitution.

The statement also emphasizes the legitimacy of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Verkhovna Rada

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday the Rada failed to vote on a resolution to support democracy in Ukraine.
