The aggressor country russia claims that the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP is allegedly a russian nuclear facility. Its transfer to Ukraine is impossible.
This is indicated in a statement by the russian Foreign Ministry.
The foreign ministry of the aggressor country stated that the Zaporizhzhia NPP was included in the russian federation as a result of so-called "referendums".
Recall that in the fall of 2022, the russians held illegal "referendums" in the occupied territories of Ukraine, after which they declared these territories part of russia.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP allegedly also became part of the russian federation as a result of an illegal "referendum". Later, russian dictator vladimir putin signed a decree that "confirmed the status of the Zaporizhzhia NPP as a facility under Russian jurisdiction".
"The return of the station to the Russian nuclear industry is a fait accompli long ago, which the international community can only recognize. The transfer of the Zaporizhzhia NPP itself or control over it to Ukraine or any other country is impossible," the russian Foreign Ministry said.
They also rejected the possibility of joint operation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP with any other state.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 25, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Zaporizhzhia NPP will not work for the occupiers, since it belongs to Ukraine.
We will remind, the day before, the British newspaper Financial Times wrote, citing its own sources, that the US presidential administration wants to change the text of the agreement on minerals, including Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
Earlier, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine does not intend to discuss with the US the issue of ownership of Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
