US President Donald Trump said that on Tuesday, March 18, he plans to hold a conversation with russian president vladimir putin. The discussion will take place within the framework of the American leader's initiative to end the war that russia has started against Ukraine.
As reported by the Associated Press, Trump told reporters during a flight aboard Air Force One from Florida to Washington.
"We will see if we have something to announce maybe by Tuesday. I will be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday," he said.
Trump noted that a lot of work was done over the weekend, and now the American side is trying to assess the possibility of ending the war.
Among the topics of the upcoming negotiations, the US President singled out the issues of territories and power plants.
"We will be talking about land. We will be talking about power plants," he said.
At the same time, Trump did not specify whether he was referring to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine or, possibly, to the areas of the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He also mentioned the possible "dividing up certain assets".
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 13, putin said that russia allegedly agreed to a ceasefire under a number of conditions.
On March 14, US President Donald Trump said that russian dictator vladimir putin was determined to agree to the proposal for a temporary ceasefire.
