In 2030, Ukraine will be a member of the European Union, this is already a de facto decision.
Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine - Minister of Justice of Ukraine, announced this at the "Exporters Summit 2025" by Forbes Ukraine on Friday, March 14.
Stefanishyna noted that the EU budget for 2026-32/33 is being formed taking into account Ukraine's membership.
"Ukraine will be a member of the European Union in 2030. This is actually a de facto decision," the minister emphasized.
According to her, the 2030 goal is absolutely realistic, since Ukraine is already integrated into the European Union in many sectors, such as the sphere of telecommunications services, trade, transport and customs liberalization, and energy markets. According to the minister, the agricultural sphere and the agrarian sector remain problematic issues.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 4, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine wants to consolidate its future membership in the European Union in a peace agreement to end the war.
On March 12, the European Parliament adopted a resolution stating that the EU is Ukraine's main strategic ally and should help it defend its right to self-defense.
Recall, on June 21, 2024, the EU Council approved the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession.
