On the night of March 14, drones attacked the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of russia, causing powerful explosions and a fire.
According to russian Telegram channels, local residents heard a series of explosions at around 03:00 a.m. local time – there were at least ten of them. Only after that did the air raid sirens sound in the city, and a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.
Eyewitnesses are posting photos and videos of the burning refinery online. According to the russian resource Mash, the fire broke out after the explosions and "the fall of debris from a downed drone."
The governor of the Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, confirmed the strike on the refinery and announced that one of the gasoline tanks had caught fire.
"The area of the fire is over a thousand square meters," he said.
The situation at the plant remains tense, information about possible casualties is being clarified.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara Oblast, which is among the ten most powerful in the country and is strategically important for the army of the aggressor state, was attacked in russia.
