The Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara Oblast, which is among the ten most powerful in the country and is strategically important for the army of the aggressor state, was attacked in russia.
The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Andrii Kovalenko, has reported this on Telegram.
"The Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery was attacked. Its capacity reaches 8.8 million tons of oil per year, which makes it one of the ten largest in the Russian Federation," the report says.
It is indicated that the plant produces a wide range of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel and fuel oil, which are critically important for transport and military equipment.
In addition, this refinery is of strategic importance for the russian army, as it provides stable supplies of fuel for military operations.
At the same time, residents of the Samara Oblast reported loud explosions that night. Previously, drones attacked the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery, which is part of the Rosneft group.
Telegram channels write that a fire was recorded at the enterprise. Meanwhile, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, claims that three drones were allegedly liquidated in Novokuybyshevsk, and that there were no fires or damage.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 8, the russian authorities stated that drones attacked an oil refinery in the Leningrad Oblast.
