NATO Secretary General supports Trump on security guarantees for Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he agrees with US President Donald Trump's words about reaching a peace agreement before providing security guarantees to Ukraine.

His words were quoted by the El Mundo newspaper on Tuesday, March 11.

Rutte agreed with Trump that a peace agreement should first be reached in russia's war against Ukraine, and then decisions on security guarantees should be made.

"I think President Trump is right that before you can keep peace, you have to make it first. And there is no peace yet," Rutte said at a press conference in Pristina after meeting with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 27, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, following a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, said that Ukraine would receive additional funds and security guarantees.

On February 17, Rutte said that Europe was ready to take the initiative to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.

On March 7, US President Donald Trump said that he wanted the fighting to end first before providing security guarantees to Ukraine.
