Russian strike drone crashes into residential area in Sumy

On the evening of March 8, at about 10 p.m., a russian strike drone crashed into a residential area in the city of Sumy. A fire broke out at the crash site.

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reports this.

"The relevant emergency and rescue units have been involved in extinguishing the fire. The consequences of the attack are being clarified," the report says.

Suspilne also writes that the power has gone out on several streets in the city.

At this point, the fire at the crash site of the enemy drone in Sumy has been localized. According to preliminary information, there were no victims or injuries.

The administration said that during the day the russians carried out 116 attacks on border areas and settlements in the Sumy Region. A total of 230 explosions were recorded. It is known that one civilian was injured.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Thursday, March 6, russian troops launched two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 112 strike drones into Ukraine. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 68 drones, and another 43 drones did not reach their targets (lost in location).

On the night of March 5, the russians attacked Ukraine with three Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh Oblast, one S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile from the Kursk Oblast, and 181 Shahed strike UAVs and various types of simulator drones from the following directions: Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda.
