European Union already working on 17th package of sanctions against russia – Kaja Kallas

The European Union (EU) is already preparing the 17th package of sanctions against russia in order to increase pressure on the aggressor country.

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated this during a press conference following the results of the EU Council of Ministers on Foreign Affairs.

"Today we have adopted important decisions - the 16th package of sanctions, and we continue to work on the 17th package," Kallas noted.

She added that the foreign ministers of European countries discussed new initiatives to strengthen EU military assistance to Ukraine. According to her, the details will be discussed during the extraordinary European summit on March 6.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that ten European Union countries have called for sanctions against russian gas.
