The European Union has imposed the 16th package of sanctions against the aggressor country of russia on the third anniversary of the full-scale war.
This was announced in his Telegram channel by the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, on Monday, February 24.
Yermak noted that the restrictions were applied against 48 individuals and 35 legal entities, as well as 74 tankers that help russia circumvent oil sanctions.
"At the same time, 13 russian banks have been disconnected from the SWIFT payment system. In addition, eight media outlets that are "under constant control of the russian leadership" have been banned from broadcasting in Europe, the head of the President's Office wrote.
According to Yermak, many of the proposals of the International Working Group on Sanctions against russia were taken into account in the new package of sanctions. Work is currently underway to prepare the 17th package.
