Scholz calls Trump's statements about Zelenskyy's legitimacy "dangerous"

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz rejected the statements of US President Donald Trump, who in his post on the social network Truth Social called Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy a dictator.

In an interview with Der Spiegel, Scholz called Trump's statements "dangerous" and "wrong."

"It is simply wrong and dangerous to deny President Zelenskyy democratic legitimacy," Scholz said.

He added that Zelenskyy is the elected head of Ukraine, and the fact that elections were not held in the country in the midst of the war is in accordance with the Ukrainian constitution and legislation.

According to him, no one should claim the opposite.

Scholz recalled that it was russia that launched a full-scale military aggression against Ukraine, which has been forced to defend itself for almost three years.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Donald Trump said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly refuses to hold elections. He also called him a dictator.

In addition, Trump said that Zelenskyy's rating among Ukrainians has allegedly fallen to 4%, and therefore the country needs elections.

As a reminder, on February 19, Zelenskyy said that the results of a recent KIIS poll showed that his level of trust among Ukrainians is 57%.
