US President Donald Trump said that elections need to be held in Ukraine, because Volodymyr Zelenskyy allegedly has a very low level of support among citizens.
In particular, at Trump's press conference in Mar-a-Lago, he said that the lack of elections is not a demand from russia, but an objective situation.
"In this situation, when martial law continues in Ukraine all the time, and the leader of this country's approval rating has already fallen to 4%... I think that if we sit down at the table, then the ukrainian people will decide that there have been no elections for a long time. This is not russia telling Ukraine that elections are needed, this is an objective situation," Trump said.
At the same time, Trump did not explain where exactly he got the data on the rating of the Ukrainian President.
Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has surpassed other Ukrainian politicians and public figures in terms of the level of trust among the population. He is trusted by 69% of citizens, according to the results of a sociological survey by the Razumkov Center, which was conducted from January 19 to 25, 2024.
The indicator of trust in the President has almost not changed compared to December 2023 (70.7%).
According to the Razumkov Center, 24.5% of respondents do not trust the President, the balance of trust-distrust was 44.5%. The highest indicator of trust in the President was recorded in February-March 2023 - 84.9%, after which it began to fall.
According to a survey by KIIS, in December 2024, 52% of Ukrainians trusted the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while 39% did not trust him. The remaining 9% responded that they could not decide on their attitude.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy postponed his visit to Saudi Arabia to March 10.
On February 16, the BBC reported that Ukrainian representatives had not received an invitation to a meeting of high-ranking officials from the United States and the aggressor country of russia in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, according to media reports, the American side and representatives of the aggressor country of russia did not want to see Ukraine at the negotiating table in Saudi Arabia.
