US Vice President J.D. Vance has warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy against making statements about President Donald Trump. Public attacks on the American leader will only backfire.
Vance said this in an interview with the British publication the Daily Mail.
"The idea is that Zelenskyy is going to change the President's mind by spitting on him in the public media <...> Anyone who knows the President will tell you that this is a disgusting way to deal with this administration," Vance said.
According to him, Zelenskyy has been receiving bad advice on how to deal with the administration of the American President.
"For the last three years, he has been told that he can do no wrong," Vance added.
The US Vice President stressed that Washington "loves the Ukrainian people" and admires the bravery of its soldiers, but "we, of course, believe that this war needs to be ended as soon as possible."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 19, Donald Trump wrote a post on the Truth Social network, in which he stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy was allegedly refusing to hold elections and called him a dictator.
Trump also wrote that Zelenskyy's approval rating had allegedly fallen to 4%, and that is why Ukraine is demanding elections.
According to Zelenskyy, the result of a recent survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology showed that 57% of Ukrainians trust him.
