A U.S. court has blocked Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing classified Treasury records.

The judge noted that Musk's access to the central payment system of the U.S. Treasury Department is a violation of federal law.

The payment system processes tax refunds, Social Security payments, veterans' benefits and much more, sending trillions of dollars each year, while maintaining an extensive network of Americans' personal and financial data.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the White House officially granted Musk the status of a special civil servant, which means he works under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump.
