Turkish Foreign Ministry reports on possible start of peace talks on Ukraine by summer

Turkey hopes that concrete steps will be taken in the near future towards a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated this in an interview with Anadolu.

"We hear a number of initiatives by U.S. President Donald Trump on this issue. But behind-the-scenes work and preparation for the meeting of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States are necessary," Fidan noted.

He also added that Turkey continues to make diplomatic efforts to achieve peace, and specific initiatives may be presented by the summer.
