North Korean military personnel were withdrawn from some front lines in the Kursk Oblast of the aggressor country, russia. The Ukrainian Defense Forces have not recorded any North Koreans for about three weeks.
The spokesman for the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Oleksandr Kindratenko stated this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
"The Special Operations Forces speak exclusively for the areas where our units are deployed, in this regard, we inform you that the presence of North Korean troops has not been noted for approximately three weeks," said Kindratenko.
He suggested that the withdrawal of North Korean military personnel may be related to the heavy losses they suffered.
Journalists contacted the Kursk group of troops, but they were unable to confirm or deny this information.
Recall that on January 30, the American publication The New York Times wrote, citing sources, that North Korean military personnel were withdrawn from the front line in the Kursk Oblast.
According to the publication's interlocutors, over the course of three months of fighting, the number of North Korean troops in the Kursk Oblast has halved.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 24, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea announced that the DPRK was accelerating the preparation of additional forces for sending to russia.
Earlier, analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) suggested that the DPRK contingent in the Kursk Oblast could be destroyed by mid-April.
