A Member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and interparliamentary cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko, is convinced that there will be a conflict between U.S. President Donald Trump and russian president vladimir putin.
He said this in an interview with the Ukrainian News agency.
"If Putin starts to deceive him, Trump will react very harshly. He does not forgive attempts to deceive him. And this is simply impossible to avoid. Knowing the nature of Putin, as such a pathological liar, since it is simply programmed. This suggests that the conflict between Trump and Putin itself is programmed," the MP believes.
According to him, initially Trump will be determined to reach a certain agreement with Putin, which is why he makes certain "compliments and passes" towards the russian dictator.
Merezhko explained that Trump is offering putin an honest deal, which the latter refuses to accept.
"The following principle of "give back" applies here, as it is said in Trump's book. When he (Trump) sees that his counterparty, instead of showing good will and reaching a compromise - concluding a deal, is trying to deceive him, he hits very painfully and decisively. He gives back with quite serious consequences," the MP summarized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Merezhko assures that Trump will not stop aid to Ukraine.
