Russia wanted to replace me with Medvedchuk - Zelenskyy on "Istanbul Agreements"

The aggressor country of russia has never held negotiations, but only put forward ultimatums and demanded that Ukraine fulfill all its demands.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with representatives of the International Media Council at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Zelenskyy said that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country of russia, some people from Ukraine brought him "some pieces of paper" with an ultimatum from putin and said that he should leave, and the pro-russian Medvedchuk would become president. The President emphasized that this was not their goal.

"So, I’m not the President, Donbas is russia, and we have to recognize this, then we have to recognize the russian language. Then we have to vote and change our Constitution and become a neutral state. We also have to reduce our army from the number that you have all heard many times - now we have 850,000, to 50,000. Then we have to give all our weapons - from artillery, etc., everything with a range of 20 km must be destroyed and given to him. Therefore, there were never any negotiations. This is an ultimatum from a murderer. His last name is putin," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President said that he "sent to hell" these people in his office, since they were separatists and without any status. According to him, these people tried to negotiate, in Belarus, and then in Istanbul, they put forward the same ultimatum.

"So we cannot say that we had any negotiations, since three times these were ultimatums from putin," Zelenskyy said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy said that at least 200,000 European peacekeepers are needed to prevent a possible future attack by the aggressor country of russia.

At the same time, on January 10, the White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said that Ukraine and russia are not ready for negotiations at the moment.
