The Ministry of Social Policy has stated that it does not intend to cancel payments for people with disabilities.
This is indicated in a statement by the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"All payments to people with disabilities are preserved and will continue to be paid. There are no initiatives to cancel them," the Ministry said.
The Ministry noted that information in the media about the alleged possible cancellation of payments to people with the 2nd or 3rd disability groups is not true.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights, a Verkhovna Rada Member from the Batkivshchyna faction Mykhailo Tsymbaliuk said in an interview with the Ukrainian News agency that the Cabinet of Ministers wants to cancel payments to people with the 2nd and 3rd disability groups, and instead introduce a large amount of payment for the 1st group.
In January, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the government plans to launch a social policy reform in 2025. He also said that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to introduce a single, but significant, payment instead of various social payments for families who find themselves in difficult life circumstances.
