Demobilization law may be submitted in 3 months - Havryliuk

The Cabinet of Ministers may submit a demobilization law to the Verkhovna Rada.

This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk at the “hour of questions to government” in the Verkhovna Rada, which was broadcast by Oleksii Honcharenko, MP from the European Solidarity faction, on his Youtube channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

“The law (on demobilization) has been worked out, it is practically ready for its submission to the Verkhovna Rada through the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine,” he said.

According to Havryliuk, in order to submit the law to the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Defense is working out a number of mechanisms in order to understand how to replace a large number of demobilized military personnel.

“New forms and methods of conducting combat operations are being worked out. To be honest, we need at least three more months to work this out,” he said regarding the previous mechanisms for demobilization.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryliuk reported that a bill on demobilization has already been developed, but it is currently impossible to carry out demobilization.

Earlier, Fedienko reported that the territorial recruitment and social support center mobilizes reserved men.

In December 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers extended the term of existing reservations from mobilization to the army for a month - due to a cyberattack on state registers.
