The number of russian occupation troops in Ukraine has increased by 100,000 people this year.
This was stated in an interview with Le Monde by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
Syrskyi noted that currently there is a very high intensity of fighting on the eastern front. According to him, the overall situation at the 1,130-kilometer front line remains very tense.
"This year, there are 100,000 more russian troops in Ukraine than last year," said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The aggressor is using significant forces to break the Ukrainian defense, said Syrskyi. The aggressor is trying to destroy Ukraine, for which it is shelling the energy infrastructure with missiles and drones, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 10, the spokesman for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group (OSTG) Nazar Voloshyn said that the russian occupation army had gathered a 150,000-strong grouping on three front lines in the Donetsk Region, where active fighting is currently underway.
On December 5, the UK Ministry of Defense reported that in November 2024, the average daily losses of the russians reached a new monthly maximum for the entire war against Ukraine.
On November 23, the Deputy Head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, reported that the aggressor country of russia has involved almost 580,000 military personnel in the war on the territory of Ukraine.
