A ceasefire in the war in Ukraine is possible in 2025, as the war in its current broad parameters will last until next year.
This was reported by the rating agency Fitch Ratings.
The agency writes that the war will continue, but there is a possibility of a ceasefire in 2025.
"War continues, ceasefire possibility: Fitch expects the war to continue until 2025 in its current broad parameters. In our view, despite some territorial gains by russia since late 2023, Western military support and strong determination should allow Ukraine to prevent significant territorial losses," the material says.
The political goal declared by the new US administration to end the war could lead to a negotiated ceasefire, but a peace agreement is unlikely due to the difficult concessions that will be required from both sides, Fitch writes. Also, the possible parameters of a ceasefire with security guarantees for Ukraine and the territories that will remain under the control of the aggressor country of russia remain uncertain, the agency noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 6, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country of russia, Sergey Lavrov, stated that peace in Ukraine is possible only in the event of refusal from NATO membership and the loss of some territories.
On December 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the aggressor country of russia can only be stopped by force.
Recall, in May 2023, Donald Trump stated that he could stop the war in 24 hours if he won the US presidential election.
