About two thousand servicemen of the North Korean army are already in combat units of the russian occupation army. In total, eleven thousand North Korean soldiers are on the territory of russia.
The representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Cherniak stated this in an interview with Donbas Realii.
According to him, currently in the operational reserve of the russian army there are 9,000 servicemen from North Korea. Another 2,000 people have been transferred to combat units of the russian army.
Currently, the Defense Intelligence knows that North Korean servicemen have been added to the units of the marines and airborne troops of the russian army.
"If they have already joined the units that are conducting active combat operations, then we can say with confidence that they have also already joined the hostilities. Maybe they are not on the front line. Maybe they are not in the front lines, but they are still ensuring aggression against Ukraine," said Cherniak.
The representative of the Defense Intelligence believes that there are three options for the development of events: they will take part in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine, they will fight only in the Kursk Oblast, or they will be used on the second line of defense.
Cherniak emphasized that the latter option also carries a danger for Ukraine, since North Korean soldiers can replace russians who will be sent to active areas of the front.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the day before that in the near future the russians are using soldiers from the DPRK as "cannon fodder" to storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall that earlier the media reported that it was known about artillery and missile installations that North Korea had transferred to russia for use against Ukraine.
