The Armed Forces of Ukraine have cleared Kupiansk, Kharkiv Region, from russian occupiers, who managed to break through to the eastern part of the city about two weeks ago. Not only the settlement itself is under the control of the Ukrainian military, but also the approaches to it.
According to Ukrinform, Nazar Voloshyn, the spokesman for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, stated this on the air of the telethon.
According to him, the occupiers are using the tactics of small assault groups. In small detachments, they are trying to infiltrate and accumulate in order to then storm the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The situation has been stabilized in that direction, and the enemy has been pushed back from the city," Voloshyn said.
He also confirmed information that the russians are trying to cross to the opposite bank of the Oskil River by boat.
According to Voloshyn, the infantry and equipment of the occupiers, which cross to the other bank, are destroyed by firearms and drones of the Ukrainian military.
"Even if some groups cross in the amount of 8 or 10 people, then from this number about 2-3 people go ashore. That is, the enemy is destroyed there too," the spokesman for the operational-strategic group added.
The situation on the Kupiansk axis
Recall that on November 26, analysts of the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had completed the clearing of Kupiansk.
To confirm this, they removed a strip of the so-called "gray zone" from the territory of the city on their interactive map.

It became known about the occupiers' breakthrough into the eastern part of Kupiansk on November 14. DeepState analysts also reported this then.
According to them, at least two columns of russian equipment with landing troops on board were able to overcome several kilometers from the front line and break through to Kupiansk.
Some of the equipment and infantry were destroyed on the road to Kupiansk and during the landing in the city itself. At the same time, some of the occupiers were still able to disperse in the city buildings.
Recall that the day before, on November 13, the Defense Forces of Ukraine stated that on the Kupiansk axis, russian military personnel were changing into the uniforms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during assaults.
