The russian invaders tried to break through the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Kupiansk axis, while part of the invaders disguised themselves in the uniform of the Ukrainian military.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported this.
It is noted that the assault began at 2:30 p.m.
"The enemy's assault groups attacked the positions of the Ukrainian defenders in four waves. In total, the enemy used about 15 pieces of equipment. In particular, tanks, armored fighting vehicles and a UR-77 demining installation," the message says.
The General Staff emphasized that some of the russian soldiers were dressed in uniforms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"This violates the laws and rules of warfare and is a war crime," the military said.
The Ukrainian military stopped the enemy, destroyed all its armored vehicles and eliminated a significant part of the manpower.
Recall that the Armed Forces showed a video of the repulse of a large-scale attack in the Kursk Oblast, which resulted in heavy losses for the russians.
Meanwhile, 8,000 residents are subject to evacuation on the Kupiansk axis in the Kharkiv Region.
