Italy will not send its troops to war in Ukraine. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani stated this at a meeting of foreign ministers of the G7 countries, ANSA reports.
"We help Kyiv politically, financially and militarily by sending aid, but we will not send soldiers to fight in Ukraine," said the Head of the Italian Foreign Ministry.
Tajani also stated the need to avoid escalation.
"We must avoid escalation, Russia is taking on serious responsibilities by having North Korean soldiers fight and by enlisting Houthis and Iranian proxies," said Tajani.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Italian government did not allow Kyiv to use weapons provided by Rome to strike russia.
It was also previously reported that Ukraine received the second SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile system from Italy by the end of September.
Earlier, the embassies of Italy and Spain in Kyiv restricted work due to the risk of a missile strike.
