ISW predicts how Oreshnik strike and putin's threats will affect course of war in Ukraine

The missile attack on the city of Dnipro by the russian Oreshnik ballistic missile and vladimir putin's statements do not indicate a change in russia's strike capabilities or an increased risk of nuclear escalation, notes the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The kremlin is demonstrating new types of weapons, including missiles that break into several parts to increase destruction, using nuclear rhetoric as a tool for intimidation. At the same time, Western countries have effective deterrence mechanisms.

The report emphasizes that putin is systematically changing "red lines" without responding to increased assistance to Ukraine. The West should not succumb to such manipulation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 21, the Air Forces informed that in the morning the occupiers launched an intercontinental ballistic missile, a Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missile, and 7 Kh-101 cruise missiles over Dnipro.

On November 21, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andrii Kovalenko, said that russian dictator vladimir putin was trying to raise the stakes by launching an intercontinental missile at Ukraine.

And putin said that the russians had tested a new hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile, the Oreshnik, in response to attacks by Western weapons on the Bryansk and Kursk Oblasts.
