Rada grants deferral for those whose relatives were killed or went missing

The Verkhovna Rada clarified the grounds for granting a deferral from military service during mobilization to persons whose close relatives were killed or went missing while participating in hostilities.

This was reported on her Telegram channel by Iryna Herashchenko, co-chair of the European Solidarity faction in parliament, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

A total of 304 MPs voted for the adoption of bill No. 12104, with a minimum required 226.

The bill is intended to eliminate legal uncertainty regarding the grounds for granting a deferral from military service during mobilization to women and men whose close relatives were killed or went missing during the war.

It is proposed that women and men whose close relatives (husband, wife, son, daughter, father, mother or full, half, or half brother or sister) were killed or went missing (recognized as missing) under special circumstances or during the implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, repel and deter the armed aggression of the russian federation during the ATO, JFO, and full-scale invasion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada allowed the demobilization of half-brothers of the deceased and missing servicemen.

Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied the possibility of lowering the mobilization age.
