President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied the possibility of lowering the mobilization age.
This was reported on his Telegram channel by Yaroslav Zhelezniak, MP from the Holos faction.
"Our state is not preparing to lower the mobilization age," the MP said regarding the President's theses during the presentation of the Resilience Plan.
According to Zelenskyy, the Ministry of Defense and the military command should introduce a new system of contracts for citizens who have not reached the mobilization age.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommends that the parliament reject the bill on the demobilization of those with limited fitness up to the age of 25.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said that he was surprised by the statement of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Lytvynenko regarding the mobilization of another 160,000 people.
On November 11, Yurii Kamelchuk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, spoke in favor of disbanding the territorial recruitment and social support centers. On November 12, the Temporary Investigative Commission for the Protection of the Rights of Servicemen proposed disbanding the territorial recruitment centers and creating 10 brigades of their servicemen.
