The Ukrainian military does not believe that the initiative of the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is capable of stopping the war. They believe that there is still a lot of struggle ahead.
This is stated in the material of the British edition of The Economist.
The unnamed servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, with whom the journalists talked, understand that the initiative on the battlefield belongs to the russians.
The military considers it unlikely that the russians will offer to cease fire. In their opinion, such an option is possible only after the issue with several battles is resolved.
Problems in the Ukrainian army are observed in the west of the Donetsk Region, where the active advance of the russians has recently been observed. Now they are storming the town of Kurakhove and surrounding settlements. The newspaper writes that on this part of the front, the russian army outnumbers the Armed Forces of Ukraine by a factor of six.
A difficult situation is developing in the Kursk Oblast of the aggressor country of russia. The occupiers have gathered a group of thousands there and are trying to push Ukrainian forces back abroad.
The intensification of russians was also recorded in the Zaporizhzhia Region. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the occupiers may try to advance in the direction of the regional center.
