British intelligence explains why number of drones launched by russia over Ukraine is increasing for 3rd month

For the third month already, the number of drones launched by the aggressor state of the russian federation over Ukraine is increasing thanks to russian investments, diversification of supplies and expansion of launch sites. The main limiting factor for the russian federation regarding the use of UAVs is most likely human resources.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Kingdom has announced this in its daily Defence Intelligence Update.

Thus, about 2,000 One Way Attack Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (OWA UAVs) were launched by russia against Ukraine during October 2024, which is about 700 units more than in September and a significant increase for the third month in a row.

"With continuing Russian investment in a range of OWA UAVs, diversification of supply, and expansion of launch-sites, firing rates have been trending consistently upwards since mid-2024," the agency noted.

It is noted that the intensity of russian launches remained high and corresponded to the indicators of recent weeks during the first week of November.

"With launch sites being reasonably simple and easy to re-establish if targeted, should production remain uninhibited, the primary limiting factor for Russian OWA UAV operations is likely human resource relative to launch capacity. It is likely that the high figures seen through September and October to date will become normal," the Intelligence states.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of Friday, November 8, russian troops launched 92 drones, an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 4 Kh-59/69 guided air missiles over the territory of Ukraine; air defense forces shot down 62 drones and 4 air missiles.

The General Staff informed that in August-October, russia used 4,300 drones in Ukraine, the Defense Forces shot down 3,063 of them, or 71%.

Zelenskyy emphasized that now the aggressor country russia uses ten times more Shaheds than last fall.
