I do not agree to transfer of MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine - Polish Defense Minister

Poland provides the most humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine, but it cannot sacrifice its own security, so I do not agree to the transfer of planes. Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said this on the air of Radio ZET on Thursday, November 7.

In response to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that he is trying "with all his might" to support interest in the "Ukrainian issue". According to him, "of course, it would be easier for him (Zelenskyy, - ed.) if other countries took part in this war, but Poland is not a party to the conflict." Contrary to the statements of the Ukrainian authorities, Poland is a leader in aid to Ukraine, including military aid, the Minister of Defense said.

"Poland provides the most humanitarian and military aid. I regret that this is often forgotten. The head of the Ministry of Defense emphasizes that Poland provided as much military equipment as it could, but the only limitation is its own security. For example, MIG-29 - they patrol Polish skies and serve Polish pilots. I cannot say that I agree to the transfer of aircraft. I don't agree with that," Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed.

In addition, Poland, together with Germany and Italy, leads the "armored coalition", noted the Polish Minister of Defense.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 1, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski responded to the words of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Poland did not hand over the rest of its MiG aircraft and did not want to shoot down missiles of the aggressor country of russia over Ukraine.

On November 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the words of Polish Vice Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski, who accused Zelenskyy of trying to drag Poland into a war with the aggressor country of russia.

We will remind, on August 30, the Ministry of Defense of Poland refused to shoot down russian missiles and drones over the territory of Ukraine.
