Polish Defense Ministry refuses to down missiles over Ukraine

Poland will not down russian missiles or drones over Ukraine.

Deputy Defense Minister of Poland Paweł Zalewski has stated this, Polskie Radio reports.

According to him, the countries of the European Union and NATO are not parties to war. At the same time, Ukraine must have weapons to protect the territory and airspace.

"On the other hand, we do not consider in any format, especially bilateral, what is really one of the Ukrainian expectations, namely the opportunity to knock down Russian missiles or drones from the Polish territory," Zalewski added.

He believes that Ukraine will have enough enhanced air defense to protect against constant russian attacks. Then there will be no "support from the Polish Air Force".

Zalewski noted that Poland supports another call of Ukraine – for the West to remove the ban on the use of provided long-range weapons.

Recall that earlier the Prime Minister of Poland stated that Ukraine will not join the EU without the consent of the country. Donald Tusk stressed that in any case, Ukraine will have to "fulfill Polish expectations from the point of view not so much the burial of history as the arrangement of our relations on the basis of the truth about the Volyn issue."
