The deputy chief doctor of the State Institution Central Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was detained while receiving a bribe.
This is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, the deputy chief doctor promised the person liable for military service to receive the II disability group for USD 2,000. This would provide grounds for removing him from the military register. She convinced the man that it was not the first time she had solved such "issues" and she knew how to do it.
The police detained the official while receiving the money.
During the searches, almost USD 20,000, disability registration documents, medical records, personal files and other evidence of criminal activity were seized from her.
She was served with the suspicion of abuse of influence (Part 3, Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Currently, a preventive measure has been chosen for the suspect.
It will be recalled that Zelenskyy instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to initiate the liquidation of MSEC. And also conduct a full audit of the pensions of officials who have registered their disabilities. Such a decision was taken due to numerous facts of violations of the MSEC and false disabilities of employees of state structures.
The Ministry of Health also told who will perform the functions of the central MSEC.
