The army of the aggressor country of russia took first place in the rating of the strongest armies in the world according to the version of the American news magazine U.S. News & World Report, specializing in ratings.
Russia topped the ranking of the world's strongest armies in 2024, Ukraine took eighth place. US, Israeli, and Chinese troops were in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, respectively. They are followed by South Korea, Iran and Great Britain. Germany and Turkey round out the top ten in the rating.

The publication explains that the russian economy is fed by its huge natural resources, the leading industries are oil and natural gas production. The russian federation was also named one of the world's largest arms exporters, second only to the United States.

Also in January, Ukraine took fourth place among 37 European countries in the rating of the strength of the armed forces.
As of January 2023, Ukraine rose to 15th place in the ranking of the most powerful armies in the world against the background of a full-scale invasion by the aggressor country of russia.
