Ukraine is working on negotiations, because after three years it is difficult to continue the struggle. However, for them to begin, it is necessary to return to the situation that existed before the first russian cannon shot at four in the morning two years ago.
Andrii Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, told about this in an interview with the Italian publication Corriere della Sera.
Yermak emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy never spoke about a territorial compromise, as the temporarily occupied Crimea and Donbas remain Ukrainian and are not subject to negotiations. According to him, the leadership is against freezing the war, but wants to end it.
"We are reassured that the countries of the Global South also condemn the Russian invasion and violent seizure of territories. However, in order to start negotiations, it is necessary to return to the situation that existed before the first Russian cannon shot at four in the morning two years ago. Then we will talk about how to return our sovereignty to the borders of 1991," Yermak said.
Ukraine has already shown the weakness of the russians and questioned putin's strength by conducting the Kursk operation, the head of the President's Office noted. However, after three years, it is difficult to continue the struggle: "That is why we are working for negotiations," Yermak said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 18, russian dictator vladimir putin stated that the aggressor country russia is allegedly ready for negotiations with Ukraine, but only on the basis of the so-called "Istanbul" agreements.
On October 23, Zelenskyy said that a mutual cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities could be the first step on the way to ending the hot phase of the russian-Ukrainian war.
On October 25, putin said that the representative of Türkiye at the September session of the UN General Assembly in New York received some proposal for russia from Ukraine.
