South Korean intelligence publishes satellite images of movement of North Korean troops to russia

Satellite images have appeared, which recorded the movement of North Korean troops towards the aggressor state of russia. In particular, North Korea has decided to send about 12,000 troops to russia to support its war against Ukraine and has already deployed 1,500 special forces fighters in Vladivostok.

This was reported by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, and the South Korean news agency Yonhap.

"The movement of North Korean troops to russia is recorded from a satellite. Up to 12,000 troops, a special force of 1,500 soldiers has already been deployed in Vladivostok. South Korean intelligence monitors everything. Our intelligence also knows everything," Kovalenko said in a message.

The published satellite image has the logo of South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.

The publication reported that South Korean intelligence has released three pictures as evidence of the deployment of North Korean troops in russia. Two of the three photos were taken by Airbus, a global supplier of satellite images, but the third was not identified when the country's National Intelligence Service (NIS) released them on Friday.

Intelligence has said that North Korea has decided to send about 12,000 troops to russia to support its war against Ukraine and has already deployed 1,500 special forces fighters to Vladivostok.

"The unattributed photo was taken by a satellite we use," the source said.

The photo appears to have been taken by a satellite equipped with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), which can collect data regardless of weather using remote sensing systems.

South Korea operates several RSA-equipped satellites, including a military reconnaissance satellite, although images taken by military satellites are not usually included in government press releases, because they are classified as military secrets.

South Korea closely monitors North Korea's movements using satellites operated by the government and the military, amid growing speculation about deepening military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.

It will be recalled that earlier the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture and Information published a video in which, according to the description, russian equipment is given to North Korean soldiers.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 18, The War Zone published an interview with the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In it, he stated that there are currently about 11,000 North Korean servicemen in the east of the russian federation. They are being trained to go to war against Ukraine.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol called an emergency security meeting to discuss the deployment of North Korean troops to aid russia's aggression in Ukraine.
