11,000 North Korean military will be ready to fight in Ukraine already on November 1 - Budanov

Currently, there are about 11,000 North Korean infantrymen in eastern russia, who are undergoing training to participate in hostilities in Ukraine.

This was reported by the head of the Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with The War Zone.

"They will be ready (to fight in Ukraine) on November 1," he said.

According to Budanov, North Korean troops will use russian equipment and ammunition. The first division, numbering 2,600 soldiers, will go to Kursk, where Ukraine established a bridgehead for which fierce battles were fought. It is still unclear where the rest of the North Korean troops will go.

"We don't have the full picture right now," he added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 15, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, said that initially military personnel from the DPRK could be sent to the Kursk Oblast.

On October 14, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced following the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff meeting that North Korea's involvement in the war against Ukraine is planned for the fall and winter of this year.

On October 13, the American publication The Washington Post wrote that several thousand North Korean soldiers are completing their training on the territory of the russian federation.
