Zelenskyy’s Administration calls statement about Ukraine's nuclear weapons "nonsense"

The Bild publication's information about Ukraine's alleged intentions to restore nuclear weapons is untrue.

Dmytro Lytvyn, adviser to the President on communications issues, said this in a comment on Channel 24 on Thursday, October 17.

"Lytvyn said that it has long been possible to confuse where are the words of Julian Röpcke and where are the statements of russian propagandists. After all, both of them, in his words, ``throw the same nonsense into the information space,'' the message says.

It will be recalled that on October 17, Bild analyst Julian Röpcke said that a few months ago, a high-ranking Ukrainian official allegedly told BILD and other members of a narrow circle of politicians and officials that "Ukraine will not accept the second march of the russian military on Kyiv" and will restore its nuclear arsenal.

"We have the materials, we have the knowledge. If there is an order, it will only take us a few weeks to get the first bomb. The West should think less about russia's red lines and much more about our red lines," Röpcke allegedly quoted the Ukrainian official, which is engaged in the supply of weapons, as saying.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 25, russian dictator vladimir putin proposed to change russia's nuclear doctrine, allowing the use of nuclear weapons in the event of a mass drone attack on the russian federation.

On September 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský, urged not to give in to new russian intimidation with nuclear weapons.

On October 11, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that NATO allies "should not be afraid of the nuclear weapons rattle of russian dictator vladimir putin.”
