The Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the appointment of the leader of the Radical Party, former Member of Parliament, and currently a military officer Oleh Liashko to the position of the commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade. They explained that Liashko's appointment was related to his success during his service in this brigade.
This is indicated in the official statement of the 11th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The decision to transfer Lieutenant Liashko Oleh Valeriiovych to the position of the commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade was made on the basis of the request and the transfer plan of the commander of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade," the message said.
It is emphasized that according to the data received from the 63rd separate mechanized brigade, Lieutenant Oleh Valeriiovych Liashko has proven himself in the following two years of service in this brigade:
- regarding unmanned systems, he immediately began to delve deeply into their essence and their role on the battlefield, understanding their importance;
- during his tenure in positions related to unmanned systems, work was organized to repulse a significant number of mechanized assaults, hundreds of units of equipment and manpower of the enemy were destroyed;
- in September, the unmanned systems battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade entered the top 10 units in terms of efficiency among the units and divisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of destroying manpower, military equipment and other means of the enemy using unmanned systems.
"Taking into account the above, the command of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade and the 11th Army Corps made an appropriate personnel decision regarding the appointment of Lieutenant Liashko Oleh Valeriiovych to the position of the commander of the unmanned systems battalion of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade," the message summarized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in October 2022 Oleh Liashko published a video on social media of how he took the military oath, officially entering the service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian sniper Yevhenia Emerald said in an interview that Oleh Liashko fights together with a personal bodyguard who protects him - he is her ex-husband Yevhen Stypaniuk.
In 2020, the said security guard arranged a "showdown" with the driver of another car, who allegedly did not let Stypaniuk drive on, and threatened him with a gun.
At the same time, in 2020 Liashko himself congratulated Oleksandr Lukashenko on his victory in the presidential election of Belarus, writing about it on Twitter, but later deleted the post. A screenshot of the post was published by a blogger.
