The so-called "special Buryat battalion" staffed by citizens of North Korea (DPRK) is being formed on the basis of the 11th Guards Air Assault Brigade of the army of the aggressor country of the russian federation.

Suspilne was informed about this by intelligence sources.

According to reports, the estimated number of personnel is up to 3,000 people. Currently, the process of providing the battalion with small arms and ammunition is underway.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the aggressor country russia intends to use military personnel from North Korea (DPRK) in the war against Ukraine in the fall or winter of this year.

Earlier in October, South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said that North Korea is likely to send its troops to Ukraine to support the russian occupation army.

And on October 12, The Washington Post wrote, citing an unnamed representative of Ukrainian intelligence, that russia is preparing several thousand North Korean soldiers to be sent to the front in Ukraine.
