Slovakia supports Ukraine's membership in the European Union without any conditions.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced this during a statement to the press after talks with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Ukraine is invited to become a member of the European Union. We support this membership in the European Union without any conditions. Membership in the European Union is beneficial for Ukraine. We believe that if Ukraine becomes a member of the European Union, it will be very important. We have close languages, close cultures," he said.
Fico noted that Slovakia is ready to share its experience of joining the EU.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Shmyhal previously announced that on Monday he and Slovak Prime Minister Fico would discuss Zelenskyy's peace plan, cooperation in infrastructure projects and energy security.
In June, the EU Council approved the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession.
